But they have warned Posh fans intending to purchase a ticket for the next League One campaign not to dawdle as priority in a restricted capacity at the Weston Homes Stadium will be given on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

The last League One season started on August 3, 2019 which led Posh to compare season ticket sales with this time last year.

Posh marketing exective Jake Baxter said: “I was looking at season ticket sales yesterday (given yesterday was a year to the day that last season started), but discounting hospitality sales, which we are unable to sell properly yet as we don’t know what arrangements will be allowed next season.

“And season ticket sales are pretty much like-for-like on last year. Incredible really given the challenges and a real testament to the loyalty of our supporters.”

Posh have sold just short of 3,000 season tickets for a season that is due to start on September 12. Matches are expected to be played behind closed doors until October.

And Baxter added: “When we are allowed fans in the stadium it is looking like we may have to offer priority admission on when the season ticket was purchased i.e. the earlier you purchased the more likely you are to get in. We are still working on calculations as to how many supporters will be allowed in (as the guidance is changing daily), but it is already looking like there are only a limited number of season ticket spaces left in the stadium. We might have to stop selling season tickets when our reduced capacity is reached.”

Baxter confirmed the EFL are expected to send all season ticket holders codes to allow free iFollow for all games, home and away.
