Peterborough United dates for the diary: Fixture release day, Carabao Cup draw time and EFL Trophy news, FA Cup replays scrapped

Peterborough United will know their League One schedule on Friday, August 21, as revealed by the Peterborough Telegraph on Tuesday (August 11).

The League One fixtures will be released at 11am.

The League One season will start on Saturday, September 12. There will be 11 midweek matches and the season will finish on the weekend of May 8/9. The League One play-off final will take place at Wembley over the weekend of May 29-31.

The first round of the Carabao Cup is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, but due to an international weekend may be played on alternative dates.

Rounds Two, Three and Four will be played on consecutive midweeks dates starting 15/16 September.

Premier League sides will enter the competition in Round Two, or Round Three if they are competing in European competition in season 2020/21.

The draw for the first round will take place on Sky Sports News on August 18.

As per the previous two seasons, the Round One draw will be divided into a northern and southern section, but will remain unseeded.

The first round proper of the FA Cup is scheduled for Saturday, November 7. There will be no replays in the 2020-21 competition.

The EFL Trophy will officially get underway during week commencing September 7, and the final at Wembley Stadium will take place on Sunday, March 14.

The competition format remains unchanged, however, the title sponsorship with Leasing.com has come to an end so the competition will revert back to the EFL Trophy.
