“There might not be a big crowd to watch a big game in the third round this season, but there is prize money to be won and every little bit helps the club this season.

“The incentive remains high for us. It’s also good for the club that we are on the television as there is income from that, but we know why the cameras are here and we must make sure we don’t give them what they want.

“It’s a banana skin of a game for us. I have watched Chorley’s win at Wigan and they were very good, particularly on the counter attack. I know Wigan went down to 10 men, but coming back from 2-0 down against a League One club to win is a great performance so we will have to give them full respect.

“It helps us that Chorley have already beaten Wigan. My players know what will happen if we are not at our best. We will need to move the ball quickly and repeat the levels we reached against Plymouth on Tuesday.”

Teenage forward Flynn Clarke is expected to return to the squad after recivering from his hamstring issue, but defender Nathan Thompson is being held back for the League One trip to AFC Wimbledon next week.
