Their formula which would see Posh finish with 77 points (they currently have 59) is too complicated to explain here, but the Peterborough Telegraph has looked up other stats which will have a bearing on the final outcome.
1.
CLEAN SHEETS: Posh manager Darren Ferguson believes clean sheets will be the key to Posh’s promotion chances. If so, Posh are on course to return to the Championship as goalkeeper Christy Pym (pitured) has recorded more clean sheets (15) any other League One number one. Coventry’s Marko Marosi (14) is next best. Photo: Midlands
2.
GOAL DIFFERENCE: In such a tight league , goal difference could be crucial. This is good news for Posh who currently have a goal difference of +28. Oxford (+24) and Rotherham (+23) are next best. Posh have scored 68 League One goals in 35 matches this season, seven more than next best Oxford. Photo: Midlands
3.
HOME FORM: All five of Posh’s remaining home matches are against teams in the bottom half of League One and Posh have not dropped a single home point against a team currently in the bottom half all season. Posh have accumulated the third highest number of points in League One at home (39) after Portsmouth and Wycombe (both 42). Posh have played a home game fewer than those two teams. Photo: Midlands
4.
AWAY FORM: Posh have still to travel to leaders Coventry and seventh-placed Sunderland and they will (might!) do so knowing they have not won away from home against any team currently in the top nine all season. In fact they’ve only picked up draws at two of them, Wycombe and Portsmouth. Photo: Midlands
