Peterborough United and Hull City could put on a spectacular Saturday shootout according to Grant McCann

Peterborough United’s could be involved in all-action, spectacular shootout in tomorrow’s mouthwatering League One clash against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium (October 24, 3pm), according to Tigers’ boss Grant McCann.

League leaders Hull have won all three home League One matches so far this season 1-0, but they’ve played sides who approached the games in a negative fashion.

McCann, a former Posh manager who also played under current London Road boss Darren Ferguson, knows that won’t be the case against a team in fourth place, having won four matches, in a row tomorrow.

“They want to play on the front foot, they want to play attacking football and that will never change while Darragh MacAnthony is at the club,” McCann told the Hull Daily Mail. “They’d rather win 4-3 than 1-0, which I think is going to make for a really open game because we’ll be similar, we want to be attacking.

“In the three home games we’ve had, Crewe, Plymouth and Wimbledon have been really defensive and sat back when we’ve had the ball, but I don’t think that this game is going to be like that. It’s not in the Peterborough DNA, they’ll want to come and attack us and be really aggressive.

“They’ve got a good front four. They’re dangerous, of course they are, but so are we. We’ve got players that can hurt them also.

“It’s going be a good footballing game as both teams want to play in the right way, and whoever takes their chances is going to win.”

Hull will be without summer signing Lewis Coyle after the defender suffered a shoulder injury in Tuesday’s 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.
