It’s comfortably a club record in Posh’s Football League era and we’ve selected some of the most memorable victories in Ferguson’s time as manager.
He’s enjoyed three promotions in three spells at London Road spread over 13 years.
1.
August, 2007. Posh 2, Southampton 1, League Cup. One of the first signs Posh could be heading for good things under Ferguson as his League Two side beat Championship opposition at London Road. George Boyd (pictured) and an own goal settled the tie.
2.
Jan 2008, Posh 8, Accrington Stanley 2, League Two. A spectacular attacking display in the rain (pictured). Hat-tricks for Aaron Mclean and George Boyd and two goals for Craig Mackail-Smith as the Holy Trinity ran riot.
3.
April, 2008, Hereford 0, Posh 1, League Two. A Dean Keates header secured promotion for Posh against one of their biggest rivals to seal a first promotion for young manager Darren Ferguson who is pictured celebrating after the game with his players.
4.
October, 2008, Posh 2, Leeds O, League One. A superb performance against a supposed third tier big boy. Boyd and Mackail-Smith scored the goals. Ferguson is pictured celebrating after the match.
