Into the closing minutes and it's not looking good for Posh who still trail to Callum Camps' goal.

United have gone close through a long-range effort from Louis Reed, but are hardly peppering the Fleetwood goal.

Frankie Kent was also just wide with a header.

The deadlock has been broken, and it is the visitors who lead.

Fleetwood won a corner on the left, and Josh Morris's deep delivery found its way to Callum Camps, who was unmarked at the far post, and he volleyed past Pym and into the bottom corner.

The goal came after a much livelier start to the second half by both teams.

HALF-TIME: Posh 0 Fleetwood 0

All square at the break, and that is probably about right.

If there had been a crowd here, there wouldn't have been much to get them excited, certainly from a Posh perspective.

Fleetwood have carved out the two clearest opportunities, and Christy Pym is the other only goalkeeper who has had to make a serious save.

Posh have passed and probed, but not really got anywhere. although they did finish the half the stronger.

Both sides continued to cancel each out for the most part, although Fleetwood were looking the more likely to break through.

They almost got in as veteran midfield schemer Glenn Whelan spotted the run of Ched Evans, but he was well tracked by Nathan Thompson who blocked his shot.

On 36 minutes Posh at last carved out an opening, with Jonson Clarke-Harris combining with Thompson, who broke from the back and slid in Sam Szmodics in space on the edge of the penalty area, but the Posh man's first touch was poor and the chance was gone.

Clarke-Harris then got his first sniff of goal, but his left-foot shot was weak and easily saved by Alex Cairns.

The first 20 minutes of the match didn't produce much in the way of goalmouth action, with both sides happy to keep possession and pass the ball around at the back.

Ryan Broom was an early outlet for Posh at right wing-back, but the home side's probing came to nothing.

It was 16 minutes before there was a shot in anger, and it came from Fleetwood's Wes Burns.

He had a crack from a tight angle on the right side of the penalty area, but Christy Pym was there to palm it away.

Posh were beaten 2-0 at Accrington in their first game last weekend, and manager Darren Ferguson has reacted by making two changes to the starting line-up.

Out go Joe Ward and Ethan Hamilton, while into the team come summer signing Ryan Broom and Louis Reed.

Siriki Dembele missed the trip to Accrington after being diagnosed with Covid-19, but he returns to the bench, while there is also a place among the replacements for Ricky-Jade Jones.

The teenager has yet to feature this season after injuring an ankle in pre-season.

The referee today is Chris Sarginson.
