A win could take Posh out of the bottom three, but Darren Ferguson’s side have lost all six of their away games so far this season.

LIVE BLOG: Hull vs Posh

Last updated: Wednesday, 20 October, 2021, 21:38

  • 2-1 Posh FT
  • Posh hoping to avoid 7th consecutive away league defeat
  • Posh expected to stick with three at the back formation
  • Jonson Clarke-Harris serving the third of his four-match suspension
  • Hull have failed to score in 8 of their 12 league games

More Hull pressure, Eaves looks a real threat with his height and Edwards struggled enough with Magennis. Cornell has been proactive coming off his line so far though.

Posh can’t afford to just retreat here, they’ve shown they have not got the defensive ability to hold on. Dembele now dropping very deep, not giving an outball.

George Moncur and Tom Eaves replace Honeyman and Magennis in straight swaps it seems.

Gret work from Szmodics to cut in from the left and draw several defenders, he lays it back to Grant, who slots in Dembele, who is waiting on the shoulder of the last defender. He gets the ball into his path and dinks over Ingram and Posh have the lead back.

SIRIKI DEMBELE

Dembele must be getting fed up and tries a ranges effort himself from about 30 yards. Ingram has to beat it away down low, Posh just having a little spell here.

That should have been more. Posh break out from the Hull barrage. Dembele feeds Ward on the right, it’s a good ball, Szmodics gives him an option running into the box but he cuts a woefully under-hit pass to Dembele and Posh lose it.

After that, Butler is whipped straight off for Burrows.

Butler had given the penalty away. He goes right through the back of Wilks. Clear foul but Magennis puts is nowhere near the goal, what a let-off.
