Clarke-Harris has sported a shaved head for the last two League One matches. He scores his seventh goal of the season in Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Plymouth.

He limped off with an ankle injury towards the end of that game, but could be in the squad to face Chorley in a second round FA Cup tie on Saturday (November 28. 5.30pm).

“I want defenders to look at me and think they don’t want to get in his way,” Clarke-Harris told the Posh media team. “I’m happy with the way things have gone. I’ll settle for a goal every two games and it’s my job to score. I want to reach the target I have set myself. I scored 16 goals last season (all competitions) and I want to beat that.

“Goals win games and winning games wins promotion. I’ve never had a promotion, but I’ve played in the Championship before and I know I can play at that level as could the rest of the players in our team.

“I’ve had to adapt my game because I had a couple of injuries last season. I’m trying to create space for the better players. I know their strengths and they know mine now so it’s been getting better. The lads here are class, but it’s a wide open league. You win two games and you shoot up the table, you lose two games and you fall down.”
