Toney will sign a five year contract at Championship side Brentford tomorrow (September 1). The fee is officially undisclosed, but is thought to be more than the previous club record Posh sale of Dwight Gayle to Crystal Palace for £6 million in July, 2013.
Here we look at how the other 10 million-pound Posh men fared...
5.
CONOR WASHINGTON £2.5 million to QPR, January, 2016. Striker Washington was in the form of his life when he was sold to the Championship, but the suspicion was he was never going to keep that form going and it was best to cash in on him. Indeed the 14 goals he scored in his last 18 Posh appearances compares well to the 18 club goals he has scored in the four and a half years since he left. Washington scored 14 times for QPR in 98 appearances (63 starts) before moving on to Sheffield United and then Hearts. Washington, who won full Northern Ireland caps after leaving Posh, is now with Charlton so could face Posh in League One this season. POST-POSH VERDICT: Disappointing. Photo: Midlands

CRAIG MACKAIL-SMITH £2.5 million to Brighton, August, 2011. The fact this outstanding Posh striker could command such a fee was no surprise, but his destination was as he didn't seem the type of player Brighton manager Gus Poyet would fancy. He did well at times, but couldn't help the Seagulls into the top-flight and, after a loan spell back at Posh, Mackail-Smith joined Luton a free transfer in 2015 by which time his strengths had subside. Released by Wycombe at the end of last season and is looking for another club aged 36. POST-POSH VERDICT: Solid rather than spectacular. Photo: Midlands
7.
PAUL TAYLOR £1.5 million to Ipswich Town, August, 2012. A superb first season for Posh at Championship level persuaded the Tractor Boys to splash out a sizeable fee for this speedy, tricky forward. But he started just nine mathches for Ipswich and it took them almost four years to shift him on, ironically back to Posh for free. But he was a shadow of his former self and was soon on his way to Doncaster, Bradford City and Stevenage without impressing at any of them. POST-POSH VERDICT: Poor. Photo: Midlands
8.
LEE TOMLIN: £1.5 million to Middlesbrough, January, 2014. The move Tomlin yearned for finally arrived after an excellent four-year spell at Posh and he did well enough at Boro to get a shot at the Premier League with Bournemouth 18 months later. That didn't go so well, but big money moves to Bristol City and then Cardiff still followed. Tomlin has been transferred for fees totalling over £10 million in his career. Player of the season at Cardiff last season, after spending time on loan back at Posh the season before, so he's still got it. POST-POSH VERDICT: Decent. Photo: Midlands
