And Fry was this morning (May 21) incredulous that no details from yesterday’s EFL Board meeting had reached the clubs 18 hours after the meeting had come to an end.

“Every time the EFL meet we receive a document detailing what was discussed that same night,” Fry revealed. “We haven’t had anything from yesterday’s meeting yet which is barely believable given the seriousness of the situation and the fact the meeting finished at 3.50pm.

“Clubs need to know what’s happing. But we’ve been left in the dark this time which is annoying. It certainly doesn’t look like we’re voting on anything today.

“But then the leadership from the EFL has been non-existent throughout.”

The EFL Board were believed to have been discussing the various scenarios on ending the 2019-20 League One season with a view to organising a club vote by the end of the week,

One report surfaced last night suggesting a plan to extend the number of teams had been vetoed by the EFL Board, but this has yet to be ratified.

It has been reported today the Championship could resume on June 20 with a view to finishing the season before July 31.
