Freezing Peterborough United co-owner remains positive, a ‘diabolical’ referee, but ‘if we’d taken our chances a dodgy penalty decision wouldn’t have mattered’, the better team lost, lacking a cutting edge as it’s been a struggle to get Szmodics involved, and when will the ‘Vengeance Tour’ start?

Peterborough United co-owner Dr Jason Neale was among those who responded to the Peterborough Telegraph request for comments after the controversial 1-0 League One defeat at Sunderland yesterday (September 26).

And a man who lives in Canada reckons it was the coldest he’d been at a football match!

Other Posh fans rued missed opportunities and a dodgy penalty decision.

Great opening 20 mins. Wins will come and lots to be positive about. Coldest game I have been to in my life. Two cups of Bovril and I was still freezing.

@JasonDavidNeale

Not too disappointed. That’s the firt time in years we’ve lost to them and it took a dubious decision to do it.

@JakeBleu

First 25 mins we dominated. JCH had 3 opportunities to score. Took none of them. 2nd half Sunderland were on top for 1st 15mins. After that all Posh. Taylor & Reed had chances. Controversial penalty decision by ref.

@ReisseMiller

Better team. Didn’t take chances. Never a penalty.

@Andymartin1175

Dominant spells. Didn’t test the ‘keeper enough.

@mattsmalley88

Better overall performance than the previous two League One games, but still lacking any cutting edge in the final third.

Even game, neither side deserved to take all the points, the ref was very poor (never a pen). Clarke-Harris looks excellent holding and linking but needs a goal, Broom and Szmodics started well but faded. 0-0 would have been fair, but Posh improving.

@rephotographyYT

Soft penalty decision, but ran out of ideas after good first 25 mins. Absolutely no width going forward.

@Rutlandspinner

If we had taken our chances the penalty decision would not have been an issue.

@mickgoodie

Man-of-the-Match for me was Louis Reed.

@ChestneyS

When will the ‘Vengeance Tour’ begin? I’d quite like to know.

We were cheated. How did they end up with 11 on the field? And if that was a penalty I know less about football than the referee.

@BR1STL3PO5H

Deserved to get at least a point and got nothing.

@EspieJaz

Played okay. Enough chances to win it. Soft penalty.

@AndrewS01534147

Clarke-Harris not sharp enough. Neither Broom nor Ward are defenders. Beevers always a liability in possession. Taylor too deep. No real creativity. That said nearly got a point.

@navaloccasions

Can’t seem to get Szmodics in to the game which is our problem.

@bradderz2212

Didn’t deserve to win or lose, defence remains solid, but chances aren’t been created.

@Deedz42

Trying not to swear, but ref was diabolical. We played well overall.
