Posh looked to be heading for a second straight Sky Bet League One defeat as they trailed 1-0 going into stoppage time.

But Jack Taylor levelled with a spanking strike a minute into time added on, before Sam Szmodics then popped up with the winner in an incredible finale.

The goals sealed a sixth straight home league win for Posh for the first time since October 1, 2001, and Ferguson was delighted.

"We have not had that feeling for a while, coming back from 1-0 down and winning it," said the Posh boss. "It was fantastic from my players, who just kept going.

"For the last 25 minutes we just kept plugging away and fortunately came up with two really good finishes for the goals.

"They both came from balls into the box, we won the first contact, then the second, and Taylor's is a fantastic finish, they both are.

"The players deserved it for the relentlessness they showed in terms of trying to get a result."

Posh were trailing to Callum Camps' 55th-minute strike and hadn't mustered a serious shot on target until Taylor's equaliser, but the manager insisted he could feel his team would get something from the game.

"I had a funny feeling we would get something, although I wasn't sure we'd get two goals," he said.

"I had a feeling because I thought out fitness looked good, we looked strong towards the end of the game, and the change in shaped helped us.

"We got Sirki Dembele into wide areas and we kept going and going, and Fleetwood sat deep which helped us because it meant we had control of the ball.

"So it was pleasing to get our first win, against a rival who will be up there I would imagine, and it is a very pleasing day."
