Cooper sat out Argyle’s 5-1 drubbing at Fleetwood Town at the weekend. He recenly missed a couple of matches as he was self-isolating, but he could be back to face the club who let him leave for Devon in the summer.

Plymouth, who were promoted from League Two last season, are one of just three teams in League One without an away win. They picked up two points from five road trips so far.

“They’d had a good start to the season,” Posh boss Darren Ferguson insisted. “But they’ve been much better at home than away.

“Obviously the result didn’t go their way on Saturday, but they have good players like Coops and Danny Mayer. I’ve managed Conor Grant and he’s also a strong performer.

“They like to play through the thirds and they usually play with wing-backs, a system they play very well. I suppose they could change tonight after their result on Saturday, but as usual it’s all about getting our level of performance back up.”

Posh have lost their last two League One games, but they could return to the top of the table tonight if results go their way.
