Pym kept his second clean sheet in three matches as Posh won 1-0 at Ipswich Town yesterday (January 23). Nine points from the last three matches has shot Posh up to third place ahead of a home game with struggling Bristol Rovers on Tuesday (January 26).

Posh beat MK Dons 3-0 and Charlton 2-1 at the Weston Homes Stadium immediately before travelling to Portman Road.

Pym said: “Whenever you go away to play Ipswich, regardless of the form they are in, and you come away with a clean sheet and a victory, it is a good day at the office and we are pleased with the three points.

“In truth, I didn’t really have a lot to do as the defenders in front of me protected me very well and it was just a matter of whether or not we could nick one at the other end, and we did that.

“To get nine points from three difficult games is a great return. They were different types of games. We had to show different sides to our game. We are in a good place at the minute and hopefully that continues.

“For me two clean sheets out of the last three has been pleasing because I hate conceding goals, even in training. We conceded late against Portsmouth in the trophy and we won the game 5-1, but I was bitterly disappointed we conceded and the clean sheet was taken away. I have always been like that, but having said that, clean sheets mean nothing at the end of the day if we don’t get promoted to the Championship.

“I think people in the league will look at the Ipswich result and off the back of two home wins and they will be thinking we are in a good place at the minute. We are but we can’t let it slip.”

Posh have conceded just 21 goals in 22 League One matches this season. They have now kept seven clean sheets.
