It was a first win for Posh at Portman Road since a famous FA Cup victory in 1960,

The player marks reflect a dominant display...

Christy Pym: A suprisingly easy afternoon for the goalkeeper. Ipswich had one shot on target apart from the penalty they scored. Passed the ball well 7

Nathan Thompson: Rock solid at the back. Great positional sense helps enormously 7

Mark Beevers: He’s playing like the defender we thought Posh had signed in the summer. Error-free, one excellent block and the penalty he conceded looked a harsh decision 7

Frankie Kent: Another classy display at the back. Good on the ball, but he is not shirking his defensive work. Very committed 8

Joe Ward: His defending has come on enormously in the last few games and he won the battle against the Ipswich wing-backs before limping off late on 7

Dan Butler: He was troubled by Gwion Edwards’ direct running all game, but he stuck at it. Should have been cautioned earlier than he was. Kept possession pretty well 6

Jack Taylor: This midfielder can play and he can mix it. Set up the third goal with a majestic pass. Superb display 8

Reece Brown: He is a neat and tidy passer of the ball who helped Posh control the game before he was replaced by Josh Knight just past the hour mark. 7

Sammie Szmodics: The on-loan star was quiet until robbing the goalkeeper for the opening goal. He was pretty quiet after the break until finishing precisely for a fourth goal in three matches. Pressed relentlessly 7

Ivan Toney: What a leader of the front line this beast of a player is. He was far too strong and clever for three ponderous centre-backs. Took his penalty well 8

Siriki Dembele: One lovely goal and two assists capped an outstanding personal display by the fleet-footed forward. He’s getting better by the week and a serious partnership with Toney is developing 9.
