It was a solid all-round display from Posh as Sammie Szmodics and Joe Ward scored the goals.

Christy Pym: Made a sharp first minute save, but was never tested again. He looks a composed, confident goalkeeper now 7

Nathan Thompson: Reliable and combative until going off 15 minutes from time 7

Mark Beevers: A commanding display at the heart of the Posh defence. Won his headers made some good interceptions 7

Frankie Kent: After a nervy start the young centre-back delivered a classy display which included some most impressive runs forward 8

Joe Ward: His defending is getting better by the game and he found time to get forward and celebrate his 100th Posh appearance with a goal 7

Dan Butler: Took an early booking for fouling dangerman Jordan Clark, but went on to play very solidly. Suits the wingback role. 7

Jack Taylor: Looked good in possession early on, but got bogged down in a busy midfield area. He can play and he can mix it 7

Reece Brown: He’s very accurate with his passing, but there’s more to come offensively for sure 7

Sammie Szmodics: Busy and exciting. He doesn’t stop running, struck his shot for the goal well, but it was deflected home. Substituted to keep him fresh for the weekend 7

Ivan Toney: Didn’t get in the game in the first-half, but he was effective in the second-half. Very unselfishly gave Ward a goal on a plate 7

Siriki Dembele: Superb run for the first goal and he looks a real threat alongside Toney. A hard-working display 7
