Match sponsors West Homes - who also sponsor the London Road End terrace - will be handing out clappers to supporters across the stadium.

The club’s aim is for supporters to make as much noise as possible in the 12th minute of the fixture against the Tangerines so fans are urged to use their ‘noise-makers’ during this period of time and the noise level will be recorded and posted via social media so that a challenge can be put down to other clubs to beat the level recorded.

The club’s scoreboard will remind Posh fans of the time.

The launch of the plan didn’t initially go down terribly well on social media with one Posh fan calling it ‘embarrassing’ and another asking the police if it was legal! Other Posh fans pointed out it was a harmless way of generating a better atmosphere.

Weston Homes will have promotional staff around the stadium and the ‘noise-makers’ will be distributed in a number of positions outside of the stadium including the fan zone adjacent to the Ticket Office.

Tickets are available for Saturday’s game with Blackpool at, via the Ticketmaster hotline 0844 847 1934 and in person at the ABAX Stadium Box Office.
