PETERBOROUGH LEAGUE: Spicy derby in Shield final, Whittlesey play catch-up
Moulton Harrox and Pinchbeck United won their semi-finals comfortably on Saturday (February 27) and will meet in the end-of-season showpiece at Stamford AFC’s Zeeco Stadium on Friday, May 13.
Moulton looked to have the tougher last-four tie, but the unbeaten Premier Division leaders controlled the game from start to finish against Netherton United. The city side are the only team to take a point from Moulton in the league this season, but they fell behind early to an Ollie Maltby goal and Joe Townsend made it 2-0 before the break.

A blistering first-half display saw Pinchbeck through in their semi-final at AFC Stanground. The city side have been hard to beat at their new Yaxley base this season, but Pinchbeck scored four first-half goals through Ian Dunn, Tony Edwards, Ashley Murrell and Bradley Murrell to ease into the final. Bradley Murrell scored with a spectacular free kick.
Whittlesey Athletic took advantage of Moulton’s Shield commitments to join them on 52 points at the top of the Premier Division table. Jack Bates, Joe Butterworth and Liam Harrold scored the goals in a 3-0 win at Thorney. Moulton have two games in hand on their nearest challengers.
Peterborough Sports Reserves, who are unbeaten in league action since August, are just three points behind in third after a 3-1 home success over Uppingham Town. Prolific local marksman Jamie Graham scored twice for Sports with Matthew Cox also on target.

Anthony Graves, Connor Pilbeam, Tom Palmer and Daniel Woods scored in Deeping Rangers’ 4-2 win over Sawtry at Outgang Road, while Joe Dobson, Jobi Froud and Daniels Morris were the men on target in Langtoft United’s predictable 3-0 win over injury-hit Stilton United.
Crowland made it three wins out of four with a 1-0 win at bottom club Riverside. James Ellwood scored the winner in the second-half.
