PETERBOROUGH LEAGUE: ICA one match from ABAX appearance, Fisher is King of the goalscorers

ICA Sports are the first team through to the semi-finals of the PFA Senior Cup.

Peterborough League Premier Division side ICA, who now play their home matches in Huntingdon, beat First Division Baston 6-0 in their quarter-final on Saturday (January 30).

Valdas Macianskis scored twice for ICA with Lewis Glover, Nathan Glover, Joshua Smith and Fabio Ramos also on target. ICA are now one match away from a final appearance at Peterborough United’s ABAX Stadium.

The remaining three quarter-finals take place this Saturday (February 6) with the pick of the ties the clash between top-flight top two Moulton Harrox and Whittlesey Athletic at Feldale Field.

Pinchbeck United host Langtoft United in an all Premier Division tie, while Stamford Lions entertain Warboys Town in a battle between two Division One teams.

Moulton extended their lead at the top of the table to six points with an emphatic 8-0 bashing of lowly Leverington. Ian Bradbury and Ollie Maltby both scored twice. Whittlesey’s scheduled game at Ketton was postponed because of waterlogging.

Peterborough Sports Reserves remain in the thick of the title race after returning from a long weather-related absence with a big 8-2 win at struggling Crowland. Danny Steward. Gary Gibbs and Matt Cox all scored twice for Sports who are two points behind Whittlesey with a game in hand.

Netherton followed a fine 5-0 midweek (January 27) hammering of Whittlesey Athletic in the quarter-final of the President’s Shield with a 3-1 league win at Deeping Rangers Reserves. Ash Jackson, Steve Mastin and Tom Randall scored at Deeping.

Langtoft United jumped up to fifth place with an excellent 3-1 win at Holbeach United Reserves. Joe Dobson, James Duffy and Keeshan Wilson were the Langtoft scorers.

Thorney battled to a 2-2 draw at AFC Stanground and there was another outstanding individual display from Stilton United’s star striker Zack Fisher.

Fisher is now the division’s top scorer with 22 goals from 18 appearances after scoring all four goals in a 4-0 win over Sawtry.

The Peterborough League’s Chromasport League Shield semi-finals were played on Saturday with AFC Stanground Reserves and Whittlesey Athletic C making it through to the final.

Whittlesey Athletic C, who are ninth out of 12 in Division Five, caused a semi-final shock by beating Fourth Division high fliers Brotherhood Sports 3-1 with goals from Metehan Eskikoy, Jack Osman and Dan Rippon.

AFC Stanground came through a tense semi-final against city rivals Parkside. It finished 1-1 at full-time before Stanground romped to a 4-1 win in the penalty shoot out.
