Deeping Rangers reached the quarter-finals of the Hinchingbrooke with a comfortable win against last season’s losing finallists last night (January 13).

Two early goals from Adam Scotcher set Deeping on the way to a 3-0 win over Stotfold at Outgang Road. David Burton-Jones completed the scoring 20 minutes from time.

Peterborough Northern Star’s scheduled trip to Wisbech St Mary in the same competition was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Huntingdon drew 2-2 at Harrowby in the United Counties Premier Division with all the goals coming in the first half. The home side were ahead in the first minute before Charley Sanders and Chris Jones, from a Sanders cross, fired Huntingdon ahead. Harrowby replied two minutes before the break.

Huntingdon are reeling from the loss of two top strikers to top Premier Division outfits. Jacob Joyce, a former Posh youth team player, joined Yaxley yesterday, a week after Declan Rogers moved to leaders Rushden & Diamonds.

Rogers scored in Rushden’s 3-0 win over Harborough last night, They are now five points clear of second-placed Holbeach who have three games in hand.

March Town’s Cambs Invitation Cup tie with Histon was postponed last night. Wisbech Town travel to Cambridge City in the same competition tonight (January 14).
