Darren Jarvis was tonight (December 9) surprisingly sacked as manager of United Counties Premier Division high-fliers Holbeach United.
Jarvis led ‘The Tigers’ into second place with a 3-1 win at neighbours Deeping Rangers yesterday (December 8). Holbeach are also through to the quarter finals of the United Counties League Cup and enjoyed a strong run in the FA Cup this season.
No public comment has yet been made by Holbeach FC, but Jarvis confirmed his departure on social media.
Jarvis, who had been in charge at Carter’s Park for just seven months, said: “Second in league, quarter-finals of League Cup to come, great FA Cup run, but not quite enough!”
Jarvis was dismissed as manager of Peterborough Northern Star last season after appearing to be overseeing a successful United Counties Premier Division campaign at the city club
Committee concerns about the size of the playing budget are understood to be one factor in the Holbeach decision. Jarvis was informed of his dismissal by phone after a committee conference call.
Current assistant manager Tom Roberts and player-coach Andrew Tidswell are expected to be in charge for Saturday’s league game at Kirby Muxloe.
