Yaxley will host United Counties Premier Division rivals Sleaford in the third round of the FA Vase.

The Cuckoos booked their place in today’s (November 23) draw with a hard-fought 3-2 win over London Colney at In2itive Park on Saturday (November 21).

It looks set to be a close encounter as the teams currently boast identical records in the Premier Division. Yaxley are a place ahead in seventh by virtue of scoring more goals.

But Sleaford won a Premier Division game at Yaxley 2-1 earlier this month. The Vase tie is scheduled for December 12.

There are no Premier Division matches this midweek, but free-scoring Peterborough Sports will fancy filling their boots in Division One at lowly St Neots Saints tomorrow (November 24).

There is a 40-point gap between the sides after just 15 matches with table-topping Sports having scored 77 Division One goals already. St Neots have conceded 72.

Deeping Rangers play their Lincs Senior Trophy tie at home to Boston tomorrow. The tie was postponed last week. UCL Division One outfit Blackstones await the winners in the semi-final,

And there are big games in the EVO Stik League for Stamford AFC and Spalding United.

The Daniels have a winnable home game against fellow strugglers Grantham in the Northern Premier Division, while promotion-chasing Spalding are at home to second-placed Coalville Town in Division One South.

Next-to-bottom Stamford, who haven’t won a home game all season, are seven points behind Grantham who sit just outside the relegation zone. Stamford delivered a plucky display in a 1-0 defeat at divisional moneybags Salford City on Saturday.
