Yaxley suffered last-gasp heartache in the United Counties League Cup last night (November 3).

The Cuckoos went down 2-1 to runaway Premier Division leaders Leicester Nirvana to a 92nd minute goal at In2itive Park.

That ruined a brave peformance as Jon Stead had equalised for 10-man Yaxley just a minute earlier with a 20-yard half-volley. Liam Hook was dismissed for Yaxley after collecting a second yellow card moments after Nirvana had taken a 77th-minute lead.

Nirvana now travel to Wisbech in the second round.

There’s a tasty Premier Division derby tonight (November 4) when Holbeach United host Deeping Rangers at Carter’s Park.

Holbeach are unbeaten in the Premier Division since the opening day of the season - 13 games ago - while Deeping have lost just twice and gained a creditable 0-0 draw at second-placed Kirby Muxloe at the weekend (October 31).

Former Peterborough Northern Star co-bosses Darren Jarvis (Holbeach) and Michael Goode (Deeping) will be in opposite dug outs.

Jarvis has just won the October manager-of-the-month for the Premier Division.

Division One leaders Peterborough Sports seek a 12th win in 12 League games at Oakham tonight.
