Holbeach United kept their title chase on track last night (February 11) with a win at Huntingdon.

They took the honours 3-2 at Jubilee Park to close the gap on ChromaSport and Trophies United Counties League premier Division leaders AFC Rushden & Diamonds to eight points with three games in hand.

Livo Dube was the Holbeach hero with a match-winning hat-trick.

He gave the visitors the lead after 27 minutes but eight minutes later Ben Colmer hauled the Cromwellians level.

Dube scored his second after 48 minutes, converting a Matt Nolan pass after Lee Beeson had started the move.

Charley Sanders scored a second Huntingdon equaliser after 52 minutes.

When Jamie Clarke blazed over f thougrom an 87th minute spot-kick a vital two points looked like slipping through Holbeach’s grasp.

But Dube had other ideas, snatching a decisive goal four minutes into added time.

Peterborough Sports returned to the top of Division One with a 2-0 win at Blackstones.

The visitors took the lead 10 minutes in when Matt Cook found debutant Jon Stead in space on the right and his centre was turned in by fellow new boy Ash Stevens.

Sports doubled their lead on the hour. Cook’s inswinging corner from the left was flicked goalward by Chris Lenton, and although John Feetham managed to block it, it fell to Sports sub Karl Gibbs to score.
