FA Trophy joy for Yaxley, but despair for Peterborough Sports, Spalding and Wisbech, Stamford live to fight again as do FA Vase hopefuls Peterborough Northern Star, Deeping and Holbeach
The clubs play in the same Evo Stik Southern League division, but while the Steelmen are cruising towards the top of the Division One Central table, the Cuckoos have been bruised by some weak recent results.
But Yaxley came good today. They were 1-0 down before Tom Waumsley scored twice to put them in front. Corby equalised but Matt Sparrow found a winning goal deep into the second-half.

Hide AdStamford AFC will join Yaxley in Monday’s first round proper draw (October 15) after a hard fought goalless draw at Belper, but Peterborough Sports, Spalding United and Wisbech Town are all out.
Sports were missing their entire midfield through injury and went down 4-2 at home to Cambridge City. Jake Newman opened the scoring in the fourth minute for the city side from the penalty spot, but a spot-kick also enabled City to level.
Sports striker Mark Jones was sent off for violent conduct - harshly according to his manager Jimmy Dean - after City had gone 2-1 in front. It was 3-1 before Lewis Webb pulled a goal back for Sports, but City added a fourth goal before the close.
Luke White gave Spalding an early lead against Carlton, but it was downhill all the way from there as the visitors scored four times without reply.

Holbeach United, Deeping Rangers and Peterborough Northern Star are all in Monday’s second round FA Vase draw, although Star face a replay with United Counties Premier Division rivals Sleaford at the Branch Bros Stadium.
Star twice came back from behind to draw 2-2 with goals from Matt Barber and Jermaine Wilson, the latter’s arriving in the 90th minute before 30 minutes of extra time failed to yield a winner.
Jack Smith did grab a winning goal in extra time for Holbeach at Biggleswade United. It was his second of the game and Spencer Tinkler was also on target as the Tigers twice came from behind to win.

Blackstones are up to fifth in United Counties Division One after a goalless draw at Thrapston, while Bourne had to come from behind and play much of the second-half win 10-men before drawing 1-1 at home to lowly Huntingdon.
Zak Munton grabbed the equaliser and Reece Driscoll was the man to see red.
March Town manager Brett Whaley felt his side never really got going at home to Norwich CBS in Division One North of the Thurlow Nunn League, but ‘The Hares’ battled back twice to draw 2-2.
