The win moved ‘The Daniels’ up a place to 22nd in the 24-team league. They are two points from safety, but there is a full Premier League programme this midweek.

Big non-league game locally tonight (February 23) sees Peterborough Sports host higher-level Yaxley in the semi-final of the Hinchinbrooke Cup. Sports are running away with United Counties Division One and will doubtless be tackling ‘The Cuckoos’ in league matches next season.

Sports have beaten numerous higher-level teams in cup competitions this season including Peterborough Northern Star and Godmanchester Rovers.

Also tonight Holbeach United and Wisbech Town are in United Counties Premier Division action against Rothwell Corinthians and Boston United respectively. The Fenmen are at home. Holbeach are away following their thrilling 3-3 home draw with title favourites AFC Kempston on Saturday.
