As expected the FA Council ratified a decision to void all football from step three level downwards last week.

That has left Netherton aghast as they were Peterborough Premier Division title favourites and in contention for three other trophies.

Harrison has come to terms with that decision, but he still believes some sort of compensation should be given to clubs denied a full season of action.

“It’s a lazy decision,” Harrison stated. “But one the FA thought was the easiest at the time.

“Now they will probably leave it to all the local FAs and leagues to decide how to move forward next season, which will create headaches for the Peterborough League because they will have to deal with all the clubs themselves.

“I don’t think our league should charge for anything this year, but I think they should be financially supported by the FA who were the ones that made the voiding decision. “I think a contribution from the FA to each league will help the clubs come through this hard time.

“There is no way suspensions should be carried over as people have all been punished enough with no football, but fines issued last season shouldn’t be refunded.

“If someone smacked an opponent got and got sent off and fined, you can’t now say it didn’t matter about them hitting someone so we should give them their money back.

“No matter how much it hurts, we’ve all kind of accepted that’s it’s over now, so we have to move on and come back stronger next year.

“I don’t think this virus is going away any time soon so I don’t see football starting again for a long time.

“But when it does resume I will look forward to it like no other season before!”
