Netherton lose nine players, but are still challenging for honours
Netherton United manager Jon Harrison has heaped praise on his players for maintaining high standards despite losing nine players from the squad that achieved an amazing quadruple haul of trophies last season.
The city side beat Thorney 2-1 last weekend to set up a big game at Peterborough Premier Division leaders Moulton Harrox tomorrow (October 6).
Reigning champions Netherton remain eight points behind Harrox with a game in hand.
“We were really good at Thorney,” Harrison stated. “We got a good lead and then managed the game out well.
“If we all put this sort of effort in every week we will improve our quality.
“It’s the biggest game of the season at Moulton. If they win they open up a big gap, but if we win it’s all there to play for again which would be a great effort after losing nine players from the quad squad!”
Netherton beat Moulton Harrox in all four meetings last season.
