Centre forward Joe Gormley led the way with a first-half hat-trick before he was substituted, while Aaron Williams (2), Matty Stevens, Adil Nabi, Jermaine Anderson, former Histon player Jordan Nicholson and Tom Nichols were also on target. Posh boss for the night David Farrell was delighted with the team’s attitude, none of whom with the possible exception of Jermaine Anderson are likely start the League One opener at Rochdale on Saturday (August 6).

Nicholson also hit a post as Posh struck six times before the break. It was 9-0 with half-an-hour still to play and Posh came close to recording an even more emphatic scoreline on numerous occasions.
