Another Peterborough Youth League team who have had disciplinary problems this season have withdrawn from the league.
The Peterborough Northern Star Black Under 15 side have pulled out of Division One citing a shortage of players as the reason.
On November 5 they had three players red carded in a league match against Werrington Athletic - two for foul and abusive language and one for violent conduct - and the following week they conceded their League Cup tie against the same opposition. They haven’t played since.
Franc D’Agnano, Star’s co-head of Junior & Youth Development, said: “The reason for our decision to withdraw the team from the league is one that we would wish to keep as an internal matter.”
Netherton United Under 16s also withdrew from the league early last month following allegations that one of their players assaulted a referee.
And two weeks ago the Under 16 game between Pinchbeck and Crowland was abandoned after the referee was allegedly threatened.
