Have your say

Peterborough Northern Star have appointed Domenico Genovese and Seb Hayes as joint first-team managers.

The pair have been in charge of the United Counties Premier Division side since the controversial sackings of former co-managers Darren Jarvis and Michael Goode earlier this year.

Star finished their Premier Division season with a thrilling 3-3 draw at Wisbech last night (April 14).

Star led 2-1 and 3-2, but conceded an equaliser 15 minutes from time to Danny Beaumont. Edison Fernandes (his first for the club), Phil Stebbing and Matt Porter scored for Star with the latter two netting from long range. Tommy Treacher had fired the Fenmen into an early lead, while Adam Millson also scored from the penalty spot.

Star are currently seventh - they were seventh when they changed managers - and can now finish no lower than ninth. Wisbech remain in second place, but can be overtaken by Thurnby if they win by a big margin at Holbeach tonight (April 15).

Yaxley’s end-of-season slump continued as they went down 3-1 at Eynesbury. Dan Cotton, the reigning Peterborough Telegraph player-of-the-year, scored a late consolation for the Cuckoos.

There weee important Peterborough Premier Division wins for relegation candidates Leverington and Holbeach United Reserves last night.

If Coates Athletic lose at Deeping Rangers Reserves tonight, Oakham will be crowned Premier Division champions.

Also tonight Division Three side Hampton tackle Alconbury in the final of the Hunts Junior Cup at Yaxley’s In2itive Park and there’s a United Counties Division One derby when Blackstones host Bourne.
