Peterborough Northern Star and Peterborough United both maintained their push for honours in the East Midlands Women’s League yesterday (December 3).
Premier Division title-chasers Star were away at Arnold Town and returned on the right end of a 2-0 scoreline thanks to goals by Cassie Steward - her 15th of the season - and Vicky Gallagher.
Star, unbeaten in the league this season, remain fourth in the table, three points behind table-topping Leicester City but with two games in hand.
Posh were at home to AFC Leicester in Division One South and they cruised to a 4-1 victory with Keir Perkins netting a hat-trick and Jeorgia Carr grabbing the fourth goal.
That win keeps Posh fourth. They are seven points adrift of leaders Oadby but also have two games in hand.
