Double delight for Peterborough United Ladies and Peterborough Northern Star Ladies

It was a super Sunday for the city's top ladies teams as Peterborough United and Peterborough Northern Star both won two out of two yesterday (September 16).

The Star first team, who play in the East Region League Premier Division, were away to bottom club Haringey Borough and slammed them 5-0 to record their first league victory of the season.

Sisters Cassie (2) and Katie Steward both found the back of the net with Paige Jones and Emma Pollard completing their tally.

Peterborough United play in the East Midlands League Premier Division and they are second behind Leicester City Development after a 3-1 home win against Rise Park.

Donna McGuigan, who scored a hat-trick the previous week against Loughborough Students, bagged a brace with Laura Dodwell also on target.

Georgie Elsom hit a hat-trick in Posh’s win at Kettering FC with Mia Newman getting the other goal while on target for Star in their home game against Welland Valley were Georgia Clarke (2) and Amy Gore (2).
