Despite the poor weather and a clash with the FA Cup final, a crowd of just under 500 watched the game and they were treated to some entertaining football in difficult conditions.

Playing against a side from the Premier League (South), the Posh side were always going to face a tough challenge, but they acquitted themselves well against their higher ranked opponents and thoroughly deserved the goal they got deep in the second half through Tash Applegate.

Applegate finished off a stylish Posh move, firing low into the bottom corner after good approach play, but the Hammers proved too strong overall, running out 5-1 winners in front of an appreciative crowd.
