In the Under 14 Northants Cup two Peterborough Junior Alliance League sides in quarter-final action progressed to the last four while in the Under 16 competition two Peterborough Youth League teams reached the semi-finals as well.

And completing a super Sunday for the Youth League, Deeping Blue Under 15s advanced to the semi-finals of the Under 16 Lincs Cup after a cracking win against Cleethorpes Town.

Three of the Under 14 Northants Cup quarter-finals featured Peterborough teams and Wasps and Northern Star both enjoyed comprehensive victories in home ties.

Wasps stung Corby S&L 9-1 with Conor Bell and Taylor Horne both firing hat-tricks and Jazleigh Fife bagging a brace, while Star were 5-2 winners against Mawsley thanks to goals by Daniel Ash, Ashton Bennett-Williams, Phillip Creasey, Zachariah Findley and Cameron Long.

Netherton were the third city team involved, but lost 7-2 at Corby Diamonds.

The two sides to reach the semi-finals of the Under 16 Northants Cup were Eye United and Peterborough Sports.

A double strike by Kian Meadows earned Eye a 2-1 win over Wellingborough Town at Lindisfarne Road while Sports went through after winning a penalty shoot-out 4-3 away to Rothwell Aztec Braves after the tie finished goalless.

Deeping Blue Under 15s joined stablemates Deeping Blue Under 16s in the last four of the Under 16 Lincs Cup by edging home 4-3 after extra-time against Cleethorpes Town at Outgang Road.

The Deeping scorers were Harrison Dee, Liam Scales, Nathan Pickering and Alexander Moroz.

The chance of an all-Deeping final was dashed when the semi-final draw was made, however, as they were paired together.

That game takes place on Sunday March 13 and the other semi-final will between Birchwood Colts and Pinchbeck United.
