First win for Peterborough United Ladies as McGuigan hits a hat-trick

She hit three of the goals as Posh beat visitors Loughborough Students 4-1 to make it four points from two games and move up to fourth in the table.

Megan Parrett was the other Posh scorer.

It was also a good day for Peterborough United Ladies Reserves. They were away to Welland Valley in Division One of the Northants Women’s League and chalked up a 3-2 win through goals by Mia Newman, Georgie Elsom and Poppy Ludgate.

In the same division there was a whopping 9-0 win for Peterborough Northern Star Reserves at home to Rothwell Town. Georgia Clarke and Brandi Davies both grabbed hat-tricks with Beatriz Almedia (2) and Amy Gore completing the rout.

The Peterborough Northern Star first team were at home to Colney Heath in the East Region Women’s League Premier Division and drew 2-2 with Emma Pollard twice on target.
