The Daniels had been relegated from the EVO Stik Northern Premier Division, but a decision by Cinderford United not to take promotion to the Southern Premier Division has led to a reprieve.

Cinderford’s decision meant the best-placed relegated team across several decisions were handed an unlikely lifeline.

This decision is subject to an appeal from other affected clubs.

Stamford chairman Bob Feetham told the SRSN website “This is absolutely wonderful news. It has given everyone involved with the club a massive lift. I am, in particular, delighted for the fans who have stuck with us throughout two roller coaster seasons.

“It is also just reward for all the hard work put in by Graham Drury and his squad who looked to have fallen just an agonising point short of survival. But how important that point has now turned out because it put us just one ahead of nearest rivals Bedworth.”
