Faulkner first on the Four Island Pool

The last match in the Cock Inn winter series fished on the Four Island Pool at Decoy Lakes saw Paul Faulkner on peg two top the field with 57lb 12oz.

Paul Faulkner won the Cock Inn match.

Most of his catch was barbel from the island caught on the pole with maggot over micro pellets.

Runner-up from peg four was Vinny Stapleton with 25lb 4oz caught on a small feeder.

Then came the consistent Steve Smith with 25lb 3oz from peg one.

After 10 winter matches Smith topped the league on 86 points followed by Pete Howson on 61 and Gary Sell on 60.


Webb’s AC were back on the Horseshoe Pool at Float Fish Farm Fishery on Sunday and Gordon Harmer took a very comfortable victory.

He put 28lb 4oz to the scales all taken with red maggot.

Runner-up was Ken Allum on 8lb 3oz then came Marcus Webb with 3lb 2oz.


The Saturday open match on the Two Island Pool saw fishery expert Stan Dow once again top a small, but good field.

He caught 53lb 4oz on the pole and feeder.

Vince Hull came second on a level 42lb followed by Darren Jackson with 36lb 10oz.
