Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams’ fine run of form on the international stage continued at the weekend when he reached the final of the German Open in Bochum.

The Deeping ace was pipped 8-7 in the decider by Dutchman Jeffrey De Graaf and picked up 1,000 euros.

This year Adams has won the Dutch Open and the Hal Open and finished runner-up in the World Championship and the Antwerp Open.

Adams results:

Last 32 - beat Thomas Junghans (Switzerland) 4-1.

Last 16 - beat Danny De Haas (Neth) 5-1.

Quarter-finals - beat James Hurrell (Eng) 6-2.

Semi-finals - beat Darius Labanauskas (Lithuania) 7-5.

Final - lost to Jeffrey De Graaf (Neth) 8-7.

In the recent British Internationals, Cambs county player Claire Ball starred for England as they beat Wales 6-0 and Scotland 6-0.

She won 3-0 against Julie Gore of Wales, hitting six tons, 140 and 119 for a 25.47 average and beat Scotland’s Louise Hepburn 3-2. Here she hit seven tons, 180 and 140 and had an average of 23.69.

There’s another knockout singles tournament at the Post Office Club in Bourges Boulevard tomorrow (Friday April 24). It’s £3 to enter, registration is at 7.45pm and there’s a guaranteed prize of £50. Winner of the last tournament was Derek Clay.
