Fenland Clarion picked up a hat-trick of wins at the national juvenile time trial event around the Middleton circuit at Corby at the weekend.

Jerry Norman, Mia Purnell and Cameron Neilson were all winners and will take their place in September’s national GHS final.

Norman won the boys under 16 section, knocking a considerable 58 seconds off his time from last year with 24.39, while Purnell took the Under 16 girls spoils with 28.02 and that was a massive improvement of two minutes on 2014.

Neilson, in only his first year of time trialling, won the 12 year-old age group with an impressive 30.47 on the rolling circuit.

In the latest Fenland Clarion youth grasstrack races at the Embankment there was a dominant display by Clarion’s Evander Wishart in the Under 8 age group. He was top boy while Charlotte Garfield was the quickest girl.

In the Under 10 age group it was Bert Papworth who controlled the racing from the front, although Devonne Piccaver made him work for his victories.

Harry Garfield led the Under 12 section and in the under 14s Cameron Neilson won all three races as did Jerry Norman at Under 16 level.
