Market Deeping cyclist Brett Harwood turned in an excellent ride at the National 25-mile Time Trial Championship at Marlow.
Competing against 120 of the fastest riders in the country, the second claim Peterborough Cycling Club member, riding for Terry Wright Cycles, finished 10th in a rapid time of 50:15.
Another Peterborough CC member, Jason Burrill from Bourne, placed 43rd in 53: 31.
Army captain Ryan Perry was the winner in 48:04.
The biggest cycling event in the country over the weekend was the Ride London Professional road race finishing on The Mall and Peterborough CC’s Steve Lampier from Bourne, riding for Raleigh GAC, had an off day and could only finish 97th.
In the accompanying Sportive over 100 miles the 27,000-strong field included eight Peterborough CC riders
Steve and Lou Woods, Graham Wright, Nick Berwick, Adrian McHale, Victoria Valentine, Mel Evans and Lisa Marshall all finished in the allotted time.
