Peterborough Town youngster David Sayer made his Test match debut this week.
The left-arm pace bowler played for England against Pakistan in a three-day Test in Dubai which finished yesterday (February 26).
Sayer returned figures of 1-38 from eight overs in Pakistan’s first innings of 337-8 and 0-22 from five overs as Pakistan reached 217-6 in their second innings.
The match was drawn as England replied with 256 & 156-4. Sayer finished five not out in the first innings, but didn’t bat second time around.
Sayer, who has a Leicestershire Academy contract for this summer, also played in one of a three-match one-day series which Pakistan won 2-1.
The pitches in Dubai greatly favour slow bowlers so Sayer started at a huge disadvantage
