Hunts suffered a dramatic batting collapse to slip to a 22-run defeat against Norfolk in the National Over 50s competition in Cromer today (June 10).
Hunts looked set fair for a third win on the spin when cruising to 139-3 chasing 174-8, but the dismissal of captain Bob Milne for 50 proved crucial.
Milne’s departure sparked the loss of the last seven Hunts wickets for just 17 runs.
The defeat was tough on Peterborough Town’s Milne, Gary Scotcher of Nassington who followed a tidy bowling spell with 31, Ali Anthony of Wisbech who made 37 and Market Deeping’s England international Nick Andrews who returned outstanding bowling figures of 9-5-11-2.
Norfolk 174-8 (G. Scotcher 3-36, N. Andrews 2-11).
Hunts 156 (B. Milne 50, A. Anthony 37, G. Scotcher 31).
