The Jonh Wilcox Trophy Final between Oundle Town and Stamford Town scheduled for today (August 31) at Barnack has been postponed because of persistent rain.

The rules of the Rutland League’s knockout competition allowed for a bowl out to decide the winners, but the ground was too wet even for a shoot-out so the teams have agreed to play a full 50-over game at Oundle’s Milton Road ground on Sunday (September 6, noon start),

Uppingham Town clinched the Rutland Division One title yesterday (August 30). The two points they collected from an abandoned game against Nassington was enough to seal top spot. Not a single Rutland League match was completed yesterday because of rain.

Nassington were 66-4 at Nassington when play was abandoned. It’s Uppingham’s first Division One title since 1987.
