Pete Morgan cracked an unbeaten 270 for Bourne against Uppingham.

Morgan finished on 270 not out as Bourne amassed 392-1 in their 45 overs against an under-strength visiting outfit at the Abbey Lawns.

The innings is believed to be a Rutland League record. It’s definitely a record high for the top flight and the biggest individual score ever recorded by a Bourne player, beating the 231 scored by Steve Dixon in a lower division Rutland game against works side Newage.

Morgan cracked 10 sixes and 33 fours. He put on 98 for the first wicket with Rob Bentley (32) and an unbroken 294 with Jordan Temple (72no).
