There were two tied games in lower divisions as Ufford Park second team player Danny Harrington bagged the opening ton of the summer.

Harrington finished unbeaten on 106 as Ufford matched Newborough 2nds’ 203 in Division Six, but the home side were probably disappointed not to win as they lost just four wickets in reply. Jonathan Bigham (45) joined Harrington in a century opening stand for Ufford.

Vamshi Parvathaneni top scored with 55 for Newborough.

The other tie arrived in Division Three at Corby where Stewart & Lloyds and Wisbech seconds couldn’t be separated after 80 overs and a few balls of tense cricket. Wisbech were ultimately indebted to the presence down the order of first-team players Jack Hargreaves and Gary Freear as they chased the home side’s 138 all out.

The Fenmen were 49-6 when the pair came together and 134-9 when both had departed with Australian Hargreaves making 46 and Freear 44. Tony Thurman clinched the tie for Stewart & Lloyds by claiming the last wicket - his fourth of the game.

Kudir Ali (3-7) also bowled well for Stewart & Lloyds while Jamie Gollands (3-3) was in good form for Wisbech.

All-round performance of the day was delivered by Ivan Wilson of Uffington seconds as they beat Long Sutton seconds by seven wickets in Division Six. Wilson bagged 5-15 with the ball as Long Sutton were bowled out for 131 and cracked an unbeaten 66 in Uffington’s successful reply.

Uppingham seconds beat Alconbury by four wickets in Division Five despite 83 from Harry Cotton for the losing side. Consistent team batting led by James Cross (46) and Luke Griffiths (40) enabled Uppingham to win with three overs to spare.

March lost a low-scoring Division Two game at home to King’s Keys after losing a vital toss. Australian newcomer Sam Freedman claimed three wickets for March on his debut.

The entire Lincs Premier Division and the South Lincs League programmes were cancelled on Saturday (April 16) as was the Smith Barry Cup Final between Godmanchester and Ramsey. Peterborough Town’s friendly at Kibworth was also cancelled leaving the city side without any warm-up action ahead of the start of the Northants Premier Division next Saturday (April 23) when they host Wollaston at Bretton Gate.
