Chatteris cueman closing in on a a final with a £70,000 first prize

The 43 year-old world number 25 from Chatteris won a thrilling European Masters quarter-final 4-3 against Chinese player Tian Penfai in Lommel, Belgium today (October 5) to book a semi-final against world number 28 Anthony Hamilton on Saturday afternoon (October 6, 1pm).

Perry looked set for an easy win when taking the first two frames against the world number 115 but Penfai won three frames in a row to take control.

But Perry, who had won the first frame with a 76 break, compiled a 69 break to take frame six before winning the decisive frame 73-1.

Perry had beaten top 10 player Kyren Wilson 4-1 in the last 16.

Perry has guaranteed himself £17,500 in prize money. The losing finalist wins £35,000 and the winner £70,000.

Peery has reached four world ranking title finals, winning on, the 2015 Players Championship.
