CATERHAM TRACKSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP: Another awesome effort by Anthony

Anthony Barnes of Ryhall extended his lead in the Caterham Tracksport Championship to over 30 points after an outstanding display at Snetterton last weekend (July 16/17).

Barnes has now finished on the podium in eight consecutive races in the championship.

He was second, just 0.5 of a second behind winner Matthew Lambert in Saturday’s race.

And the following day the pair finished in the same order with Lambert prevailing by two seconds after some classic racing and over-taking by both men. Barnes suffered from fading brakes towards the end of the race.

Barnes had qualified on pole for the opening race and competed superbly with a much more experienced driver for the victory.

The disappointment of two runners-up places was soon dampened by the failure of his main overall title rivals to shine.

The season continues at Oulton Park in Cheshire on August 13.
