Jordan Gill stretched his unbeaten run to a sweet 16 fights when taking the honours in the show opener in Sheffield last night.

The 21 year-old Chatteris lightweight beat Plymouth puncher Chris Adaway (22) 58-55 on points on the undercard to Kell Brook’s successful IBF welterweight defence.

He is now hoping to box for an English or British title by the end of the year.
